About Us.

Shenanigans.INK is the creative sister to The Bumblebee Agency, a care coordination and advocacy studio that helps families navigate systems that were never designed with them in mind.

Where Bumblebee focuses on advocacy, education, and systems-level problem-solving, Shenanigans.Ink is the hands-on workshop — the place where those ideas turn into tangible, printable, shareable tools.

Because sometimes what you need isn’t another meeting or policy.
It’s a form that actually makes sense.
It’s a binder that tells your story clearly.
It’s a workflow that gives you back your time.

We build those tools — planners, trackers, concierge document services, and paper goods that transform the invisible labor of care into something visible, efficient, and even a little bit beautiful.

The bee in our logo connects the two worlds: the relentless worker, the builder of hives, the small creature that makes big systems function through quiet collaboration. Shenanigans.Ink exists for those same kinds of people — caregivers, educators, advocates, and families keeping their worlds together through everyday acts of brilliance.

Our philosophy is simple: complex lives deserve elegant tools.

We design through a disability-justice lens — which means we start from access, not as a retrofit. We treat care work as creative work, and organization as an act of love.

This isn’t stationery for the sake of pretty paper.
It’s survival, systemized — with humor, empathy, and ink.

How I Came to This Work

Hi — I’m Mary Otts, the founder of Shenanigans.INK.

My daughter, Evelyn — “Ev,” or “Goose” if you’ve met us — is funny, fierce, and the light of my life. She also happens to be disabled and medically complex. That part isn’t tragic; it’s just reality. What is tragic is how hard our systems make it to live that reality with ease and dignity.

I didn’t start out wanting to build a business. I started by trying to survive the mountain of administrative labor that came with being Ev’s mom — dozens of intakes, school forms, insurance renewals, and letters of medical necessity, each coming in its own precious and inaccessible format. The caregiving wasn’t what burned me out — the paperwork was.

So I began building systems to make it easier: color-coded spreadsheets, visual trackers, editable forms, fax automations. Slowly, these became less about “getting through the week” and more about giving us our life back. I realized that what I was making — systems that honored care work as real work — could help other families, too.

That’s how Shenanigans.Ink was born: at the intersection of design, disability justice, and survival instinct.

I believe every family deserves tools that work as hard as they do.

That creativity and care are not opposites.

And that humor — the good kind, the “we’re still standing” kind — belongs in every system we build.

Shenanigans.Ink is my love letter to the people doing impossible things every day — parents, caregivers, educators, and disabled folks navigating worlds not built for them.

Because our lives aren’t too complicated; The paperwork is.

And even when those shenanigans in life happen, I’m here to craft and share beautiful and accessible tools made just for you.
